In June 2018, Artscape hosted 50 leaders from the cultural sector across Canada and the world on an immersive tour of Toronto’s growing number of creative and innovation hubs. The group engaged in meaningful discussions about the protection and promotion of arts and culture in the context of the global urban affordability crisis. Funded in part by the World Cities Culture Forum and the Canada Council for the Arts, the 5-day tour allowed for an important exchange of ideas around challenges that many cities share.

“I think the professional network of policy makers and practitioners established from this study tour and the ongoing efforts of World Culture Cities Forum will be very helpful to the efforts here in NYC. Every city is tackling the challenges faced by the creative community differently and we can all benefit from having experts and lessons from around the world to learn from.”
